Developed by Johnson & Johnson MedTech Neurovascular, EMBOGUARD™ is a next-generation balloon guide catheter designed for use in neuroendovascular procedures, including mechanical thrombectomy in patients with acute ischemic stroke.
During mechanical thrombectomy, the catheter enables temporary local control of blood flow, supporting the effective removal of blood clots from affected cerebral vessels. Its design combines excellent trackability with an ultra-compliant balloon engineered to conform atraumatically to the vessel anatomy.
EMBOGUARD™ is designed to integrate seamlessly with commonly used mechanical thrombectomy systems. Its flexibility and navigability support physicians when accessing challenging vascular anatomy, while its balloon technology provides enhanced procedural control at the treatment site.
