The MODENA retractor system is used for thyroid tumour resection via axillary access using robotic or endoscopic surgery. The retractor is attached to the operating table on the robot side for initial adjustment. Fine adjustment is then carried out from the operating side.
During this process, the surgeon can adjust the following:
vertical column height
horizontal boom tube depth
blade angle
The surgeon can choose from six different blade sizes. The blades are available in two different lengths and three widths.
Special features
Approximate height adjustment with quick-release attachment on the robot side
Fine adjustment can be made from the operating side
Blades are easy to change yet securely locked
Automatic adaptation to the surgical field through rotation of the boom and blades (no "pressure necrosis")
