NIMBUS™ is a geometric clot extractor designed to remove hard clots* and restore blood flow.
(*) A hard clot is a compacted, durable thrombus with high stiffness, making it resistant to endovascular thrombectomy. A common feature of these clots is that they are fibrous and contain few red blood cells.
In vitro thrombectomy simulation results with hard clots are inferior compared to the overall clot population.
The CERENOVUS NIMBUS™ extractor is designed to remove hard clots.
The device features two distinct design elements: a proximal helical section and a distal cylindrical section. The helical section is specially designed to maximise vessel wall apposition and device-to-clot interaction, ensuring engagement and facilitating the removal of resistant clots.
Thanks to this unique design, NIMBUS can improve reperfusion rates and reduce the number of passes required in complex clot cases, which may improve patient outcomes.
